Place: Halle Institute for Economic Research (IWH), Halle (Saale), Germany
The Halle Institute for Economic Research (IWH – Institut für Wirtschaftsforschung Halle) and the International Network for Economic Research (INFER) are organizing a Workshop on Applied Economics and Economic Policy on April 22nd and 23rd 2013 to be held in Halle (Saale).
The workshop provides a platform to discuss applied economic research. We invite empirical and theoretical contributions from all fields of macroeconomics and international economics with an emphasis on a high relevance for economic policy.
The special topic of the workshop will be State of the Euro – State of the Union. Contributions on the current challenges for monetary policy (in particular for the Euro area) and economic dynamics in a currency union are especially highly welcomed.
The keynote speakers are Frank Smets, European Central Bank & KU Leuven, and Roland Vaubel, University of Mannheim.
The Review of Economics (Jahrbuch für Wirtschaftswissenschaften) will publish a special issue with selected papers presented at the conference. The Review of Economics is listed on EconLit and will therefore be included in the upcoming Handelsblatt ranking. If you would like to be considered for the special issue please indicate this on your submission. More information about the journal is available here.
Further information will be provided on the website. Please note that the submission process and registration will be done by the local organisers and not via the INFER webpage.
